How to remember the difference?

Lie -- Lie down on something.

Lay -- Lay something on the table.

Eg.
You lay something down.
People lie down.

I think pupils should remember the past tense form to avoid confusion. So, just concentrate on the laid and lay.

She lay down on the sofa.  (Past tense)
She laid the cloth on the table. (Past tense)

Right way to write answers for similarities and differences.

There is a proper way to write similarities and differences between two things.

Eg.

Differences.

Correct example.

The fungi cannot make food while the non-flowering plant can make food.

You must compare the same things. Do not compare different things.


Wrong eg.

The fungi cannot make food while the non-flowering plant reproduce by spores.
This is a wrong example for differences.



Similarity.

Both fungi and non-flowering plant reproduce by spores.

Connecting your writing!

5 Endurance,

Please elaborate and describe so that you can connect one sentence of your writing to another.

Example:

The fire spread and pandamonium broke out. The car driver quickly drove away from the building.
(Actually, i cannot penalise this two sentences. However, you should elaborate more and extend the first sentence so that it connects the two sentences better and gives the reader a more complete picture of what is going on.)

The fire spread and pandamonium broke out. Everyone was shouting, screaming and crying. They ran helter-skelter in many directions. Then, the car driver quickly drove away from the building.
(This second part would give a more detailed and complete picture of what had actually happened. The yellow section extended and gave a more complete picture of the pandamonium as described before.)

So you should follow this way to write in all your writing. Be it in compositions, situation writings, or science answers in section B of your exam paper.

Error in English CA2 Paper 1 question no. 29

There is an error in the answer for question 29 for English paper 1.

The correct answer should be 3.

Answer 4 is incorrect.

Please let me see your scripts (OAS) latest by Friday to make the changes.

Anyone handing in the paper after Friday will not have their marks amended in the system.

What is the difference between non-flowering plant and fungi?

Non-flowering plant can make its own food while fungi cannot make its own food.

What is the similarity between fungi and non-flowering plant?

Fungi and non-flowering plants reproduce by spores.

Always remember that non-flowering plant is a PLANT.
It is not a fungi!
